My blogging friend Samantha over at Penrith Crafts has some calorie free candy to give away and all she would like you do is make something that isnt a card!  Well at least this will give us a break after all those Christmas cards we have made!

I have decided to have a go at some shortbread with cherries which I was inspired by a recipe I saw in the latest Asda magazine!  I have also made a few bracelets to add to some thank you goody bags for my daughter Seren's 6th birthday which is this Saturday - yes thats right New Years' Day!  You can't say that anyone who knows her will forget her birthday lol!

I must admit that before I took the photo I had to have a taste of the shortbread and for my first attempt they are really yummy if I may say so myself lol!

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and didn't overindulge in all the nice festive goodies that we all seem to go made with lol!

Well today its my birthday and what a lovely challenge we have over on Magical Monday which is themed 'Thankyou'.  We are kindly being sponsored by Meljen's Designs who have also given the DT some gorgeous digi images to work with.

I have chosen an image called Pixie Dust Fairy which is available from Whimsey Stamps online shop,  coloured her in with copics, Sakura glitter pens and used glamourdust for detail.  The dp used is from K & Co Classic K McKenna which is gorgeous and is pieced onto Always Artichoke cardstock from SU.  The lace trim is brand new from the American SU catalogue which is adorable.  I also used my new SU Scallop Trim border punch.  Rose is from a brand new pack of Prima flowers and the blossoms are wildorchidcrafts. Pearls are from Hobbycraft.  Sentiment is from SU Wow Flowers stamp set which has been pieced onto a scallop circle cut out with SU punch.

I am also entering this card into the latest Sketch and Stash challenge which is to chose one of their sketches to follow which I have chosen sketch 27 as I love layering co-ordinating papers.  The challenge is also asking people to apply for a DT position which I would absolutely love as I adore following sketches and feel I could give other bloggers inspiration for their creations too.

I do hope you will pop by the rest of the DT blogs and see their creations.  Unfortunately Pops has had to step down from her DT position with us and due to family commitments both Lacey and Claire are going to miss this challenge.

I do hope you all have a fantastic start to 2011 and look forward to seeing all your creations for this challenge and next year too.

I am so glad the snow and ice has started to go away where I live.  The snow looks so pretty but I hate having to drive or walk in it!

I have created a card for the latest Sketch and Stash challenge which I will be handing over to my mom and dad for their Christmas card.

I have used my new stamp from Whiff of Joy called Betty and Henry Winter Mice, coloured them in with copics and added glamour dust for detail.  The dp is old stash from a retired paper pack from Stampin Up called Ski Slope and also the small roses which are from Prima also from old stash.  I have used two lots of cardstock also from Stampin Up which I have only just bought called Real Red and Baja Breeze.  The ribbon is also SU called Real Red, large blue rose from wildorchidcrafts, sentiment from craftworkcards pieced onto an oval punched out with my SU oval punch.  The red gems are from Hobbycraft and small blue gems from papermania.

With all this snowy weather I was really in the Christmas mood for making this next card for the fab challenge over on Lovely-Haenglar-Only which is to make a tealight card.  This is the very first time I have had an attempt of making a tealight card and thanks to Jane over at Whiff of Joy I used her tuturial for my inspiration.

I used one of my Hanglar images and coloured her in with copics and glamour dust on her wings.  The red cardstock was from my stash and  the Christmas dp is Stampin Up Merry Moments.  The silk ribbon is from my stash and the bow tied with my bow-easy.  Flowers are from wildorchidcrafts and leaves punched out with my Martha Stewart Fond punch.  I adore the sentiment which is from Penny Black.

I don't know yet which of my friends will be receiving this card so may have to make some more as the decision is really hard!!!!

What a really cold and snowy week we are all experiencing.  I wish I could just stay indoors until its over but have to the school run!

We had some great 'Flowery' entries into our last challenge over on Crafty Purple Frog Challenge and for our next challenge we want to see your Easel Cards.  You can use any image you want to but it would be great to use some of the great decoupage or pyramage images from the store.

I have used Red Is My Passion as I think she is really beautiful.  The dp is from a retired Stampin Up Designer paper pack called Rose Red Patterns which I also used the same colour cardstock to co-ordinate.  The flowers were punched out with my Woodware flower punches, ribbon from my stash, Martha Stewart Floral Lace punch for the scallop detail across the middle.  The sentiment is from Dimensions Crafts which I received last year for my birthday.  Adhesive gems are Hobbycraft and flower brad from my stash.

Dont forget to visit the rest of the lovely DT and leave them some love too.

ABC CHRISTMAS DT CARD - Y is for Yuletide

We had some fantastic card entries for our last challenge and it looks like you are all getting into the spirit of making those Christmas cards.

Our next challenge over on ABC Christmas Challenge is Y is for Yuletide with an added extra of HOLLY AND BERRIES, RED AND GREEN or CANDLES.

We are kindly being sponsored by our very own Lacey from WAGS AND WHISKERS.

For my creation I have followed the fantastic sketch by Donalda over on Just Magnolia.  I have used my Tilda with Present and coloured her in with copics.  The dp is Basic Grey Wassail paper pad and cardstock is cherry red from my local Dunelm and Stampin Up Always Artichoke.  I used my Stampin Up eyelet border punch for the fancy edging.  Holly ribbon was from the NEC last year, holly embellishments from my stash and flowers from wildorchidcrafts.  I used a sentiment from craftworkcards pieced onto a plain oval and scallop oval cut out with my SU punches.

I do hope you will pop over to see what the rest of the DT have created and leave them some love too.
